Is it permissible to call each other by nick names?

My cousin and I like to play around with each other and just for fun we call each other ugly and fat. Is this wrong and does it have effect?

A person should net say anything while joking to someone that will cause hurt or harm or dishonor him. Even if a joke doesn’t harm a person there is always a fear of it, which sometimes could lead to a fight. Therefore, one should avoid such possibilities as well.
