What are the conditions for Qasr to be applicable? Do I pray Qasr when I visit home for less than 15 days? In my present job I travel to another city (>50 miles) for 12 days and do Qasr while I’m out there. I come home for 2 days, and leave to go back to the same city on the 3rd day. In my previous job I was out for 6 weeks in the other city (no Qasr), and would come home for 10 days, and then go back to the same place. Does Qasr apply in either of the two cases above, when I’m visiting my home.
When a person returns to his country or city he would be a resident whether he lives for 15 days or less. You stated that you live at your house for two days than during these two days you have to pray completely. The place where you travel to for your work, you stated that you live there for 12 days; there you have to play only half like Travelers when you are praying by your self. It is preferable that you also consider your workplace as your home because a person can have more than one home than in that case you would have to pray completely when you go to work or when you come to your house. It does not matter for what extent you stay at home you would always have to pray complete prayers. If a person travels more than 48 mi. it does not matter how often he visits that place as long as his stay is less than 15 days he is a traveler and should pray like a traveler.
