What is the preferable form of Hajj in the Hanafi school: Tamattu’ or Qiran?
Answer:
Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.
The Qiran is superior to the Tamattu` as it entails greater hardship by remaining in the state of pilgrim sanctity (ihram) for the duration of the rites of the lesser (`umra) and greater pilgrimage (hajj).
