Typing kufr things

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

assalamou alaikoum wa rahmatullahi,

inshallah soon im going to start working as secretary, and my job would consist of typing books, pamphlets, etc for companies (people write them by hand and i type it for them). So i was wondering, if i ever i have to type a book that contains something that would constitute kufr or something against our beleif, or something harming to muslims, would i be allowed to still type it? or should i agree to type the whole book but leave out that part and ask them to fill it in?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

Typing such things, when it is not one’s primary occupation, is not impermissible, as your own work (i.e. “typing”) is permissible. Please search SunniPath Answers (http://qa.sunnipath.com) for related answers on “assisting in sin.”

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
