Corporate restructuring/consulting firm: Would I be able to accept the job if the management ag

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Mufti Mohamed Umer Ibrahim

I would like to work for a corporate restructuring/consulting firm. Companies go to them when they have a problem they can’t solve themselves. The company is owned by non-Muslims so they accept any client. If I was to begin working for this company and one day I was assigned a client who was a beer manufacturer and my job was to suggest to him what he could do to become more efficient and more profitable, the resulting money I receive for these services would be Haram, correct? Should I decline the job? Would I be able to accept the job if the management agrees to not assign those jobs to me?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa alaikas salam

The Answer in the Name of Allah Almighty

Yes, you may accept the job if the management agrees to not assign those jobs to you.

And only Allah Almighty knows best
