Cleaning the floor from urine

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I asked a question about cleaning the floor from urine. And I was told to read the fatwa answer on “On marble floors how does one clean off najasa?”. But I was wondering if urine already got dried up on the floor.. does one have to mop the floor afterwards? or is the floor simply pure cause I poured water over the urine and after it, it just dried.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

If it dried and no traces of filth remain on the floor, then this in itself would be considered sufficient as purification for the floor or ground. (Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah) However, it would be better to wipe or wash, as described in related SunniPath Answers (http://qa.sunnipath.com).

And Allah alone gives success.
