Is it permissible to clean one’s hands with an alcohol based gel?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Yes, it is permitted to clean one’s hands with such a gel, because synthetic alcohols (though impermissible to consume in intoxicating ways or purposes) are not filthy. They remain more precautious to avoid when one can do so without undue hardship.

And Allah alone gives success.
