What are the reasons for Muslims considering Friday as their holy day?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
I was recently asked at work why do Muslims consider Friday as there holy day, apart from giving a simple answer, that Jews have Saturdays, Christaians have Sundays and we have Fidays. Are there any other reasons for Fiday beign our holy day??

Answer
Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

There is a special day in Islam which Allah Ta’ala has singled out for blessings which are not to be found in any other days. This day is Friday, to which Allah guided the Muslims and from which He led the Jews and Christians astray.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah’s Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying, “We (Muslims) are the last (to come) but (will be) the foremost on the Day of Resurrection though the former nations were given the Holy Scriptures before us. And this was their day (Friday) the celebration of which was made compulsory for them but they differed about it. So Allah gave us the guidance for it (Friday) and all the other people are behind us in this respect: the Jews’ (holy day is) tomorrow (i.e. Saturday) and the Christians’ (is) the day after tomorrow (i.e. Sunday).”
(Bukhari Volume 2, Book 13, Number 1)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: We who are the last shall be the first on the Day of Resurrection, except that every Ummah was given the Book before us and we were given it after them. It was this day which Allah prescribed for us and guided us to it and the people came after us with regard to it, the Jews observing the next day and the Christians the day following that. (Muslim, Book 004, Number 1858-1863)

It is the day (Friday) which Allah chose from among all the days of the week, just as He chose Ramadan from among the months of the year and Laylat al-Qadr from among all the nights, and Makkah from among all places on earth, and Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) from all of mankind.

Apart from this, Many special events happened during this day like, Adam (Alaihis salam) was created, entered into Jannah and also when he was taken out from it, and Qiyamah will take place. (Al kutub As sitta, Muslim Chapter: Excellence of Friday Pg.811- Tirmidhi Chapter: Jumu’ah pg. 1692) (Ibn Maajah, 1084).

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
