Is facing feet towards qibla while sleeping or sitting a sin?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Is it a sin to sleep or sit with your feet facing towards qibla? Please give evidence if possible.

Answer
Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

The Qibla is from amongst the symbols of Islam, which a person should show respect to. Facing one’s feet towards Qibla intentionally should be avoided.

Allah Taala says,”And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allâh, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.” ( Surah: 22, Ayah: 32)

The feet should not face the direction of the ka’bah whilst sleeping. In fact, it is not permissible to face the feet towards the ka’bah whether a person is sleeping or awake. (Shaami vol.1 pg.655; HM Saeed)

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
