Is it permissible to hit the face/head of a training partner in physical contact sports like boxing?

Assalaamu alaykum ww
respected ulamaa. what is the shar’e viewpoint regarding sparing in physical close contact sports such as boxing, kick boxing etc would it be permissible to spar and hit the face/head etc of the training partner? please answer the question in detail if possible. may Allah Ta’aala reward you all, jazakumullahu khairan.

Assalamu alaikum,

It is (jaiz) permissible to train in this manner provided that you don’t injure your partner.
