Is “Yasfir” a good Muslim name or should I change it due to its meaning?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Salam,

I would like to know if the name “Yasfir” is a good muslim name, or not.

I heard that it means the “right arm of shaytan”.

Should i change my name?

Kind regards,
Yasfir Ebrahim

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

You should change this name it has no meaning. You may consider the name Yasir which means, wealthy; this is a suitable name in Islam. Alternatively, there are many other suitable names in Islam which are available in books and sites.

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
