Doubting if one performed three rakaats or four rakaats

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a person reads esha but doubts if he read 3 instead of 4 rakaats. What is the ruling?

Bismillaah

A: If he is certain that he had performed three rakaats, then he should repeat the salaah. However if he is doubtful, then he does not have to repeat the salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
