Wudhu becoming invalid while reciting the Qur’an

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the method of closing one’s Qur’an Shareef if one needs to renew one’s wudhu? Kindly explain the mas’alah when one is alone and when one is reciting Qur’an Shareef with people around.

Bismillaah

A: If people are around, he should ask somebody who has wudhu to close his Qur’an for him. If he is alone, then he should use a cloth or his hat to close the Qur’an. He should not close the Qur’an with any cloth that he is wearing e.g. his sleeve or the side of the kurta.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
