Being involved in the buying and selling of pork

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am currently working as a buyer in Shoprite Hyper in Mauritius. Recently they have added the deli department to my portfolio and now I have to deal with buying and selling of pork and its derivatives. They are not very reluctant to remove that department. I want to know if it is allowed to do such an action and what is its consequences.

Bismillaah

A: It is haraam and forbidden in Islam for a believer to purchase these items or have any involvement with it.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
