Clothing of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wish to know what sort (somewhat detailed description) of garment of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) wore in daily life, before Nabuwwat with Hazrat Khadija, after Nabuwwat, during war expeditions, while riding his mounts, horse or camel. Please provide Hadith sources also.

A: We have not come across the clothing that was used before nubuwwat. However, the general trend was the wearing of shawls and lungis. This is supported from some ahaadeeth. At the time of war Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) used armour. At times during safr he would wear a jubbah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
