Saying “Why have I been afflicted with such and such a problem”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Three months before I got a son. But my son has no right ear. The right ear got microtia very little meat there like peanuts. The hearing in the right ear is also effected. I want to know why was my baby born with this defect? What does Islam say? My wife and I were doing wazifas to have a son. All reports during pregnancy were fine. Please tell me why God give me an abnormal son? Did  I commit some Gunaah due to which Allah Ta’ala is punishing me?

A: The authority of Allah Ta`ala is not questionable. Hence, do not waste your time in asking why this had happened. Otherwise it could be asked why were you born.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
