Dreaming at the time of Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I keep having similar dreams and its always before namaaz time. I once had a dream about someone who I was on the phone to and I can tell that they have been crying and they are saying one thing to me but mean another thing. I have had few other dreams about the same person where I am talking to them but can’t remember what was said. Then one day before Fajar namaz I had a dream where I was asking this same person a question and I was really upset in the dream. At the same time it was very windy and then slowly the wind said something to me, it said I am coming back and the voice was very soft but it was the voice of the person I am talking about. Could you please help me understand these dreams. I am usually quite good at understanding dreams but this one I don’t understand. I would be ever so grateful if you can please help me on this matter. Also I keep experiencing dejavus, where I keep feeling like I have seen certain situations before. What does that mean? I hope you can answer my questions.

A: Generally at the time of Salaah the dreams one has is influenced by Shaitaan. Strange and weird types of dreams are seen as Shaitaan strives to cause the person to fall deeper and deeper in his sleep so that he misses his Salaah. Do not pay attention to these types of meaningless dreams.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
