Difference between fidya and fitrah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Kindly tell me difference between fidya and fitrah. Also let me know about the current rates of both fidya and fitrah in rupees.

A: Fitrah is given on Eid-ul-Fitr and fidyah is given as a compensation. For example, if one did not fast he gives a fidyah for the fast that he missed.

You may contact the local Ulama body for the rate.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
