Can someone who has contracted an S.T.D. get married?

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a Muslim or Muslimah has contracted an S.T.D. for which a cure has not been found, than what is the Islamic verdict on them when it comes to marriage? Are they totally banned from getting married?

A: To avoid disputes and problems later on in the nikaah, they should inform the family that they intend marrying in, of their condition.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
