Being considerate to one’s debtor

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have loaned a fellow Muslim money. She has disputed paying the total with no valid reason.

She has mailed me to say that she is willing to pay half of the amount due to me in 6 monthly installments. Am I obliged to forgive her?

Bismillaah

A: If she is in need then it is your duty to be considerate towards her.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
