Going for umrah without a mahram

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Can my sister travel for umrah without a mahram. Her mahram, I mean her brother is already in Saudi Arabia. Can she travel with her mother for umrah?

Bismillaah

A: It is not permissible for a woman to travel the distance of 78 km or more without a mahram. Hence if your mother and sister do not have a mahram accompanying them during the safar, it will not be permissible for them to travel.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
