Is a Legal Marriage Valid if Nikaah is Refused Due to Racism?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My question is, if a refusal of nikaah is because of racism and I do a legal marriage, will it be haram to live together even though everyone refuse to do my nikaah?

Bismillaah

A: If the parents are not happy then just call it off. Do not pursue such a marriage. There could be multiple reasons for refusal. Some of the reasons are valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
