Keeping two surnames

Q: Can I give my new born baby girl two surnames; my wife’s and the father’s surname in one. Is it permissible?

A: As long as this does not bring about confusion.

Q: This is the way of kaafir actors and actresses. It has become a norm for them to merge surnames for themselves and for their children. I read about it and assumed you did not know hence your answer. I just wanted to inform you, not question you.

A: If these names are kept with the intention of imitating them then obviously it will be impermissible.
