Taking an oath that if I marry a certain person, the nikaah is not valid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I keep making oaths and I am worried they will affect if I am allowed to marry my fiance or not. I made an oath that if I marry him then my marriage is not valid. Does this mean I am still married? Please help me I really want to marry him and I am scared that I wont be able to marry him because or these oaths.

Bismillaah

A: The nikaah will be valid. But it is impermissible for you to have any type of relationship with the person you have not yet married.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
