Assalamualaikum
Are we allowed to wear wrist watches if some of its components are made of pure gold (not gold plated)?
I am interested in buying a wrist watch, some of its chain links are made of pure gold. I have read a fatwa’s on your website, which allows wearing gold plated wrist watches.

It is forbidden for males to wear pure gold or that which contains 11 carats or more gold, irrespective of the form it takes. Therefore you are not allowed to wear a watch the links of which are made of pure gold.
Items which are gold plated do not take the ruling of gold and are therefore permissible to wear.
