Replying to someone’s salam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
What happens if someone did not reply to another person’s salam?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

It is wajib (compulsory) to reply to the salam of a Muslim. If a person did not reply to the salam of a Muslim, he has committed a sin and, therefore, he must do tauba.

And Allah knows best.
