What to do if I recite Sura Naas in first rak’at. I would be reciting Surahs in incorrect order.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.ca

Question

Is keeping the tarteeb of surahs in salah fardh? E.g can I not recite surah naas in 1 st rakah and surah falaq in second rakah? I recited Sura al Naas in first rak’at, what do I do now?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is sunnah to keep the tarteeb (sequence) of the Qur’an surahs as they were revealed (as compiled in the Mushaf from al-Baqara to al-Naas). To read them in opposite is makruh.

If a person recites Surah al-Naas in the first rak’at, then he should repeat Surah al-Naas in the second with intent of avoiding the makruh of reciting Qur’an inversely. [1]
