Marrying a cousin’s son to a daughter

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. My mother’s nephew (my first cousin) has a son who will like to marry my daughter. Is this permissible? Remember my cousin’s father and my mother are brother and sister.

A. Yes, this is permissible. There is no prohibition for your cousin’s son to marry your daughter. There is no blood relation in this relation, and the marriage will be valid. Ali (RA) was the cousin of the Prophet (SAS), and he was fortunate to marry Fatima (RA), who was the Prophet’s daughter.

And Allah knows best.
