Question: As Salaam Alaikum.
I am a recently revert to Islam. I am a practicing Muslim. My parents are Hindus. Is it permissible for me to help them eg. cooking, cleaning etc for festivities such as Divali?
Answer: Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
No, it is not permissible to do so. The festival of Divali is a festival of Shirk which is the most heinous sin and the Shariah has condemned everything that is connected to it. Therefore, being a help and support in any manner possible will not be permissible in Islam.
