Can a Person Pay Fidyah Before the Month of Ramadan?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Answered by: Shaykh Shafiur Rahman

Can a person pay fidyah before the month of Ramadan or does the month have to pass by first?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Fidyah cannot be paid before the commencement of the month of Ramadan. It can be paid as soon as Ramadan has started or toward the end of the month.1
