Question:

Assalamualaikum

In YouTube, I saw a scholar of a group who claims themselves of Ahle Hadees movement stated that 50% hadith of Muntakhab Hadith is weak.

Besides, they also talk about weak hadith in Fazail e Aamal and advice people against it.

Is this right? I want to know it because Allah showed me the right path by means of Tabligh. Besides, they also say, the Arab scholars are against Tabligh Jamaat.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer:

Weak ahadīth (narrations) are allowed to be quoted for encouragement to do good deeds, this is the opinion of the majority of scholars.[1] The ahādith the books ‘FaḍāilʿAmāl’ and ‘Muntakhab Ahādīth’ contain are all of an acceptable quality to be practiced upon, if one chooses to disagree that is up to that respective person.

There are many ʿArab scholars who are in favor of the effort of tablīgh from them is the Imām of Masjid Aqṣā, Shaykh Ali Umar Yaqoub Abbasi, as well as the scholars of Jāmiʿ al-Azhar. Some have criticized tablīgh due to external factors, this is due to their differences of opinions regarding academic matters which scholars worldwide have disagreements over, the likes of which is beyond the scope of this fatwā.
