ASSALAAMUALAIKUM, my friend named Sameer has performed nikah secretly a year back, but now by the grace of ALLAH, parents of both,the girl and the boy have agreed for marriage,but they are still unknown about the secret nikah,in that condition can nikah be performed again with the same girl.?..JAZAKALLAH

(Fatwa: 905/844=B/1430)
If the Nikah was solemnized in accordance with Shariah in presence of witnesses, there is no need to re-perform it. But, if he wishes he can repeat it so that parents are satisfied and there is no misconception among the people.
