What is the difference between Alaihis salaam and Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam when used in salutations?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Respected Ulama of Deoband, What is the difference between salaam in Alaihis salaam and Sallam in Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam Jazaka Allah khairan wassalaamu Alaikum.

There is no difference between the two salams of Alaihis Salaam and Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, but the later is better and more comprehensive as it includes both; Salam (peace) and Salah (prayer):

قال في حاشیة فتح الملھم 1/110 عن السندي في حاشیتہ: قال الجزري في مفتاح الحصن في آخرہ: الجمع بین الصلاة والسلام اولی، ولو اقتصر علی احدھما جاز من غیر کراھة۔
