Can water reaching throat through eyes, nose, or ears break a fast?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
as-salaam u alaikum It is said that when you put eye drops in your eye you can feel its taste in your throat, 1) so while fasting when you do wudu or take a bath, your eyes get wet and as a result traces of water may reach your throat through the eyes, nose or the ears, in this case what should one do? spit for soem duration like 5 0r 7 minutes? 2) while fasting, in wudu when you do kuli, some water remains in your mouth, so spitting once is sufficient or do you have to do it a number of times?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1295/1156=B)

The fast (sawm) does not break by putting eye drop in eyes. Likewise, if the eyes get wet and the trace of the water was felt by the throat, this also will not invalidate the fast, yet it is better to spit. Yes, if the water itself reached to the throat then the fats will be broken, if it did not reach the throat the fast will remain valid, it should be spit once and twice.
