What is the correct procedure if one misses a rakat behind the imam?

SALAMS, i wanted to ask that if i miss a rakat behind the immam.then when do i pray thanna.will it be in the rakat which i pray after immam has done salaam or in the rakat as soon as i join jamat?

When you stand to complete your missed rak’at after Imam has said salam then you would recite sana.
