Is a phua (fathers’ sisters’ husband) considered a mahram?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Asalamualaykum,is a phua(fathers’ sisters’ husband) considered a mehram. Is my chachi(aunt)(fathers’ brothers’ wife) considered a mehram. Is my Chacha(uncle)(fathers’ brother),mamu (mothers’ brother) considered a mehram for my wife. Shukran.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1764/1596/B=1430)

Phupha (the husband of father’s sister) is not mahram, but he is ghair mahram. Your chachi (the wife of father’s brother) is not mahram. She is ghair mahram as well. Your chacha (father’s brother) and mamu (mother’s brother) are ghair mahram for your wife as well.
