If we are praying salah alone is it obligatory to do adhan?

If the azan of locality mosque was called already, calling azan for one performing salah individually is mustahab (desirable), not necessary. But, if anyone performs salah at a place where azan was not called, he should call the azan and then perform salah:

قال التمرتاشي: وھو سنۃ ۔۔۔ للفرائض الخمس، وقال ابن عابدین الشامي ۔۔۔ وتشمل حالۃ السفر والحضر والانفراد والجماعۃ، قال في مواھب الرحمن ونور الإیضاح: ولو منفرداً أداءً أو قضاءً سفراً أو حضراً لکن لا یکرہ ترکہ لمصل في بیتہ في المصر إذ أذان الحي یکفینا (الشامي 2:49(
