Answer

(Fatwa: 54/54=M/1429)

The scholars of Fiqh say that traveller and one who has had an intention of itikaf can sleep in mosque. (Fatawa Hindiyah)

The elders of Jamat have designed the schedule of 40 days; since 40 days have a special importance in changing conditions. It is proved by indications from the Quran and Hadith and experiments.
