What river did Pharaoh drown in according to Shariah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
The Imam of our mosque has said Pharaoh did not drown in Nile but in another river. It is wrong to say Nile. What is right? Please guide at best in the light of Shariah.

Imam Sahib is correct. Pharaoh was not drowned in the Nile rather he was drowned in Bahr al-Qulzum (which is known as Red Sea) as well. As the Nile was located towards west of Banu Israel’s dwelling and locality and the route of Bani Israel for Syria was towards East and that route has nothing to do with the Nile. Bahr al-Qulzum (Red Sea) was located near the route from Egypt to Syria. (Tafsir Majidi, p: 27, Tafsir Surah Baqarah, verse 50, Qisas al-Quran, 1: 357)
