Can eating Chahlum food cause family issues if I don’t do it for someone close?

Can I eat Chahlum food if the person is very near and dear? If I do not attend or eaten then it may create some problem in future in the families?

(Fatwa: 197/149/L=2/1439)

The food of Chahlum is not haram in itself and it is allowable to eat it. However, the ceremony of Chahlum is not proved and it is bida’h; hence you should avoid to participate in it with such an excuse that it does not create any problem in the families.
