Be a good Muslim and believe in science? Act or leave it to God?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am a devote Muslim and Islam comes naturally to me but I am also a person who believes in scientific reasoning! Are both these things compatible or should I change my approach in order to be good Muslim? Like I believe in putting all the things in place to accomplish it and then leaving it to God! Should I leave everything on God ignoring the cause and effect of things?

There is no harm in believing on scientific research and reasoning if they are compatible with reasons set up by Shariah and are not against the Quran and Hadith. The world affairs are associated with causes; hence one should adopt any source first and then should trust in Allah. It is not against Islamic teachings to adopt lawful cause but one must not believe that the cause is effective in itself, rather it is only Allah who puts the effect in all the things and thus only Allah is the real Effecter.
