I am the president of masjid committee. We have provided residence to imam adjacent to the masjid. We have some wooden shelves of high quality in masjid for keeping Quran and books. The imam is demanding to shift some shelves to his residence, as he also want to keep some books there. Although he has there some steel made shelves and serve the purpose. Only to beautify his sitting area he wants this replacement. Please advise under Shariah can we do this.

If the shelves are meant specially for keeping the Quran and books of mosque, then it is not right for imam sahib to shift them to his house.
