Change name & surname to marry Muslim girl if not against Islamic views?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have reverted to Islam before 1 year but I did not change my name publicly. The name is Shubham and surname is Chaudhary. Muslim girl with whom I have to marry said that you must change the name for status as well as surname too but I have read somewhere that it is not compulsory till the name has not against the Islamic views and surname too. Is this true if yes then please refer us the Quranic verse for it. The meaning of Shubham is pure and true.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 649/649/M=1434)

The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “On the Day of Resurrection you will be called by your names and by your father’s names, so give yourselves good names.” Hence you should change your name to any good Islamic name. Shubham is a Hindu name, so you should change it.
