Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

can i write articles and sell it. by taking it from the web and others ideas ,books? also can i earn by subscribing to paid advertisements where in they pay to click adds and they are not sent actually from companies rather sent from brokers.its like generating non genuine traffic for websites?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1)     It is permissible for you to take articles from websites and books if there is no infringement of copyrights. If the articles and contents of the books are copyrighted, then they are the exclusive rights of the owners which are protected. It is not permissible to infringe on their rights without their permission. [1]

2)     In order for us to issue a ruling please provide more detail on exactly how you earn through the click adds and how you are creating non-genuine traffic. According to our understanding non-genuine traffic refers to displaying a greater amount of visitors to a certain website for the sake of getting more customers to that particular website when in reality the website did not receive that many visitors.  If the click adds you are designing are similar to non-genuine traffic we have described then, this will not be permissible as it has the element of deception in it which is not permissible in Shariah. Consider the following hadith:

قال النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam said he who acted dishonestly towards us is not of us (Muslim-101)
