Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakāt

Allah Ta;aala has blessed you with Imaan and the consciousness to follow the dictates of  Imaan. It is that consciousness that led you to resent the tattoo on your body and removing it. May Allah Ta;aala keep you steadfast on Imaan and grant you more consciousness to follow the dictates of Imaan Ameen. You have practised on the ideal situation by surgically removing the tattoo. You do not have to remove the remaining portion of the tattoo.
