1. i was abused by a family member at the age of 9.will my parents be responsible to what happaned , i mean will they be punished for what happened to me.both my parents are dead and i ask allah to forgive them .
2. i want to know about zakaat,my husbands father owns land in pakistan he has given some land to us do we need to pay zakat,also we own 2 cars ,one for earning our living on the other for social use,do we need to pay zakaat.on that as well.

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh
1. If your parents were actively involved in your abuse, they will be responsible. Generally, parents love children and would not involve themselves in such acts. As a child, it is your responsibility to make du’a for your parents at all times, whether they were actively involved in your abuse or not.
2. There is no Zakat on land itself. However, if you and your husband are receiving rentals from the land, the rentals should be distributed between two of you as agreed and will be considered as cash on hand. This cash should be included with other cash in possession and Zakat will be payable from the entire amount, if the cash on hand is equivalent or more than the Nisab after deducing liabilities.
3. There will be no Zakat on the two cars in your possession, as they are for your personal use.

ومنهافراغالمالعنحاجتهالأصليةفليسفيدورالسكنىوثيابالبدنوأثاثالمنازلودوابالركوبوعبيدالخدمةوسلاحالاستعمالزكاةوكذاطعامأهلهومايتجملبهمنالأوانيإذالميكنمنالذهبوالفضةوكذاالجوهرواللؤلؤوالياقوتوالبلخشوالزمردونحوهاإذالميكنللتجارةوكذالواشترىفلوساللنفقةكذافيالعينيشرحالهدايةوكذاكتبالعلمإنكانمنأهلهوآلاتالمحترفينكذافيالسراجالوهاجهذافيالآلاتالتيينتفعبنفسهاولايبقىأثرهافيالمعمول (الفتاويالهندية 1/172)
