I am a student in University of Texas, USA… I want to know that in all countries the origional books are quite expensive… So the students use to make a photocopy or a duplicate print of the copy which is illegal considering copyright act…. Is it permissible in Islam?
Answer:
Copying Computer software programmes is a violation of copyright laws, hence, not permissible.
If the act does not prohibit photocopying for personal use, then it will be permissible.
