Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1- My question is about the intrest money you get in from the bank on your savings. I heard that instead of leaving it to the bank people it is adivsible to it give to the poor without the intention of any ajar on this deed. please clarify this to my.

2-How about the intrest that i have got from the bank, (of which i am not sure of in the past 5 years) since i am with the my bank. Can i give an approximate amount to needy as the Intrest money.

Your advise will be appriciated

Answer

1. Your understanding is correct. You should take out the interest monies and dispose of it to the poor and needy.

2. You should estimate the interest paid to you and dispose the equivalent of that to the poor and needy.
