Assalamualaekum, Can grandson inherit the property of his grandfather if grandson’s father (son of the grandfather) has died. Jazak ALLAH u khaira

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamualaekum, Can grandson inherit the property of his grandfather if grandson’s father (son of the grandfather) has died. Jazak ALLAH u khaira

Answer

If there are no sons of the deceased alive and there are grandsons present,
then the grandson would inherit. (Jawaahirul Fiqh vol.2 pg.483)

If the deceased left behind son/s, then the grandson/s will not inherit.
