Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Is nutmeg halal if used as a spice to enhance the flavor of the food?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Nutmeg refers to the seed or ground spice of several species of the Myristica GenusMyristica Fragrans (fragrant nutmeg or true nutmeg) is a dark-leaved evergreen tree cultivated for two spices derived from its fruit: nutmeg and mace.

It is permissible to use nutmeg as a spice to enhance the flavour of food.
